Bear Butte is a sacred site to many indigenous people of the northern plains. Before beginning this series, I consulted with several of my Lakota friends, asking their permission and blessing.
For reasons not even known to me, the works in this gallery were not included in my tonalism series.
Birds have been a passion of mine for almost thirty years. Only recently have I found a comfortable approach to painting them
This series combines a couple of past interests - border paintings and found object - with my ongoing interest in the landscape.
I work closely with the printer - a fine artist and musician - to insure that these images are faithful reproductions of the originals.
